This 200 000 hectare conservancy falls within the OKAVANGO DELTA WORLD HERITAGE SITE. The pan has a constant year-round water supply and many species of game and birdlife are in abundance. These tranquil surroundings are perfect for game viewing or updating your bird list. Elephant, buffalo, wild dogs, as well as lion and leopard, are often seen as are many antelope and other species. The Theatre of animals visiting Hyena Pan will amaze and delight you, visible from a choice of vantage points in camp.
Hyena Pan borders Moremi Game Reserve, the Khwai River and Chobe National Park, considered one of Botswana’s finest game viewing areas. The camp which overlooks Hyena Pan is in a forest of Cathedral Mopane and just 12 km north of the Khwai River.
There are direct flights to Maun from Cape Town and Johannesburg. Fly to Maun and then switch to a light aircraft and fly to our airstrip. Road transfers from Maun and self drive options are also available.
The rains which fall from December to March fill the many pans around camp and throughout the forest. As these pans shrink during the dry season, March to late November, water is pumped from solar-powered boreholes to ensure a constant supply of water. This water source provides amazing private game viewing opportunities all year round.
