Explore the bare plains of the Namib Desert, the apricot-coloured dunes of Sossusvlei, the romantic coastal town of Swakopmund nestled between the Ocean and the Desert, the rough terrain of Damaraland and the abundant wildlife in the world renowned Etosha National Park on this classic Namibian tour.
Arrival at Hosea Kutako International Airport, where you will be met by your guide.
The tour departs at around 09h00 with a drive via the capital of Namibia, Windhoek, in a northerly direction via Okahandja to Okonjima, home of the AfriCat Foundation, a non-profit organisation dedicated to the conservation and protection of Namibian wildlife.
Enjoy the opportunity to admire and photograph predators during the afternoon activity today.
Enjoy two activities at Okonjima today and explore the reserve with their local guides.
Today we depart via Otjiwarongo, Otavi and Tsumeb and proceed through the Etosha National Park to Ongava Lodge.
The Etosha National Park is one of Southern Africa's most pristine wildlife sanctuaries. It covers an area of 22,270 km² and is host to 114 mammal, 340 bird, 110 reptile, and 16 amphibian species. We spend the afternoon exploring the Ongava Reserve on an afternoon game drive.
Enjoy a morning game drive in the Etosha National Park with your guide in the tour vehicle. This afternoon embark on a guided safari tour on the Ongava Reserve in open vehicles.
Today we head to the Etosha Heights Private Game Reserve bordering the Etosha National Park. You will spend the next 2 nights at the beautiful Etosha Mountain Lodge, situated on impressive 60 000 hectares of classic Etosha landscape, which is dominated by vast flat savannah, interspersed by Mopani woodland, riverine forest and scattered salt pans.
Embark on an afternoon game drive on the Etosha Heights.
Early this morning we head out on another game drive with the local guides of Etosha Heights. We return to the lodge for a late breakfast and you can spend the remainder of the day at your leisure.
Your journey today continues into Kaokoland, where you arrive at our Pitch Perfect luxury mobile camp to spend the next two nights. Enjoy the first night of your luxury camping adventure, Namibia’s spectacular scenic beauty and colourful bird- and wildlife as well as the noises of the African nights, whilst sitting around the campfire.
During a scenic drive today with your guide in the tour vehicle, you will have optimal chances to encounter the wildlife in the area. The drive takes you through the valleys and side arms of this unique natural paradise.
After a last bush breakfast, we make our way to Malansrus Tented Camp. En route, we visit Twyfelfontein, which means “doubtful fountain” and resembles a large, open-air art gallery.
We make our way to the coast to Swakopmund. This quaint desert town with its old-world charm and relaxed atmosphere hedged by desert and sea, is enhanced by lush green lawns and palm trees. You spend the afternoon at leisure.
A marine cruise has been booked for you today. You will be picked up at your accommodation and driven to the nearby town of Walvis Bay, from where your boat cruise departs. To round the trip off you will be spoilt with fresh Walvis Bay oysters, snacks and cold sparkling wine on board as you make your way back to the docking station and head back to Swakopmund where you have the afternoon at leisure.
Departing from Swakopmund after breakfast in a southerly direction through the Namib Naukluft Park via the Kuiseb- and Gaub Passes into the low plains of the Namib Desert.
Very early departure today into the Namib Naukluft Park to witness one of Namibia’s most scenic attractions – the Sossusvlei and the highest dunes of the world. Visit the nearby Deadvlei, a dried out natural water pan with its dead acacia tree trunks rising to the blue sky. The Sesriem Canyon is another attraction worthwhile seeing en route back to the lodge.
A relaxing sundowner on top of the nearby ridge ends off an unforgettable day in the desert.
An after-breakfast departure from Sossusvlei take you into the red dunes of the Kalahari Desert. In the late afternoon you will participate in a guided game drive to learn about the flora and fauna of the Kalahari Desert.
We have come to the end of your tour. Depending on your departure time, spend the day in Windhoek doing some last-minute shopping on your own account. In time for check-in on your outbound flight your guide will take you to Hosea Kutako International Airport.
